When the economy is recovering and the job market is very tight; when is the best time to disclose you have a disability when you are looking for a job. Should you do it in your resume, at your interview, or after you get the job?

Experts suggest it’s best to wait to bring it up when it is relevant to the discussion. So keep your resume positive and focus on the merits of your application and how you will be a benefit to the company. Once the employer determines that you’re qualified, it would be unlawful for them to reject you because of your disability, unless you are unable to do the job.

You might want to research employers before applying. Some large corporations are very open to hiring people with disabilities.

On November 30, 2009, the number of newly laid off workers filing for unemployment fell more than expected last week to the lowest level in over a year according to the AP. If you are amoung the unlucky people who recently lost their job, you are entitled to general termation rights in California. One of these rights are proper and timely receipt of your last paycheck. If you believe your last paycheck was not right, you can file a wage claim with the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement.

Also make sure you are getting paid for your vacation days assuming your rights to them have vested.
